The Question That Helped Me See Beyond My Own Beliefs.

A while ago, I was invited to walk the Camino.
Ten days. Just a backpack. No distractions.
And honestly? I was ready to say no.
Because the thoughts kicked in quickly:
“Black women don’t do that.”
“That’s not my thing.”
“I’m not the kind of person who…”
Then a question came in — and everything shifted:
What if I’m not the Janet I think I am?
That one thought made the “no” disappear.
And I said yes.
The Stories We Carry Can Feel So Real
We don’t even notice them most of the time.
But they’re there — quietly shaping what we believe we can and can’t do.
Sometimes we pick them up from childhood.
Sometimes from culture.
Sometimes… even from spiritual teachings we’ve turned into rules.

Yes, even the Principles.
I had a moment not long ago where I caught myself thinking,
“Wait — is my understanding of the Principles holding me back?”
Not because the Principles are wrong.
But because my beliefs about them had become fixed. Familiar. Safe.
And suddenly, I wasn’t growing.
I was looping.
So I Created Something Simple
Just five emails.
Five short stories.
And five big questions:
Questions like:
What if you’re not the person you’ve been telling yourself you are?
What if you don’t need to let go — just see more clearly?
Is this even true?
No pressure.
No homework.
No “transformation journey.”
Just space.
Insight.
And maybe, a gentle shift.
